THE GORGEOUS STORY
Gorgeous Cosmetics is a young Australian cosmetic brand that flourished out of passion, loyalty and the pursuit for elite quality. Founder, David McConnell, began his career in the Hair and Makeup industry where as a qualified Makeup Artist and hairdresser, he distinguished himself very early attracting multiple awards at successive Australian Industry Award events. Before he reached twenty, David had opened his first boutique taking on the challenge of one of Melbourne’s most prestigious suburbs, Toorak. In this high expectation luxury environment David delighted in demonstrating to his clients that he could deliver quality to the highest standard.
In his quest for new opportunities to demonstrate his superior talent for glamour, David began providing makeup for celebrities, catwalk models and brides. His passion to achieve the best inspired him to offer clients more than just a face for the day. He strove to empower each woman to be confident that she could achieve that glamour everyday. David shared techniques and intelligence on the qualities to look for in a makeup product. This philosophy of service inspired a loyal and growing client following.
EVER YOURS
In time, David commenced his own product research and development adding to the Gorgeous Cosmetics service philosophy a quality product line. “Gorgeous Cosmetics was my way of saying to my clients that makeup glamour and confidence is Ever Yours.” With a small range in production, David was able to supply his clients with integral pieces for their makeup collection. The demand for these products flourished among professionals in the industry. Soon Gorgeous Cosmetics was responding to requests from retail outlets driven by client demand.
ACHIEVING QUALITY
“As a Makeup Artist it was an exciting move for me to be designing my own range of cosmetics.” David McConnell was driven to meet the increasing demand for his product. He set about meticulously engineering a full premium cosmetic product range. His research and development took him all over the world as he gathered the know how to achieve the results he knew were paramount to quality. “I love the pursuit of quality. This is a key aspect of Gorgeous Cosmetics. I don’t just purchase ready- made product, I develop the Gorgeous Cosmetics range from first principles. There is no compromise on the quality of ingredients and I test the product extensively to ensure that it performs exactly the way I want it to. After 10 years of research and development, I am confident that our range is one of the finest available in the marketplace.”
